Meydan Free Zone Company Formation in Dubai

Launch your Dubai business with a licence route suited to your activities, shareholders and visa plans. Skyway Corporate Services assists with Meydan Free Zone company formation, including Regular and Fawri licence suitability, trade-name and activity planning, incorporation documentation, visa coordination, corporate bank-account readiness, and the tax and accounting requirements that follow registration.

Meydan Free Zone is known for its digital-first application process and broad range of permitted activities. But the fastest licence is not always the right licence. Skyway helps you evaluate the trade-offs before you pay, so the new company supports how you plan to operate, invoice customers, hire and grow.

Complete Meydan Free Zone Business Setup Services

Skyway’s service is designed for founders who want more than a licence PDF. We help coordinate the company formation stages and prepare you for the next tasks: visas, banking, customer invoicing, record-keeping and annual renewals.

01

Business activity and licence selection

We start with your actual commercial model: consultancy, professional services, online retail, software, advertising, media, trading or other eligible activities. Meydan offers thousands of approved activities, but selected regulated sectors may require additional permissions. Choosing the correct activity groups early can prevent changes after incorporation.

02

Shareholder, trade-name and registration support

We help organise your proposed company name, shareholder identification, authorised signatories, ownership declarations and corporate documents where applicable. This includes checking whether your ownership structure qualifies for a fast-track option or should use the standard route.

03

Visa and workspace planning

We assess whether you need a business licence only, investor residency, employee visas or a larger allocation. We also clarify what workspace arrangement comes with the selected offer and whether your business needs more than a flexible desk or registered address.

04

Banking, accounting and ongoing company services

After licensing, we help prepare KYC and company documents for bank applications, evaluate tax registrations and coordinate bookkeeping or compliance support. The selected bank, tax authority and immigration authority retain control over their respective approvals.

Meydan

Is Meydan Free Zone Right for Your Business?

Meydan can suit founders who value a Dubai-issued free zone licence, streamlined digital administration and access to a diverse catalogue of approved business activities.

Consultants and professional service firms

Management consultants, technology consultants, marketing service providers and other eligible professional businesses may benefit from a structured licence without immediately leasing a large private office. Skyway helps confirm that the specific service is covered by the authorised activity description.

E-commerce and digital-first brands

An online business may need e-commerce or trading activities alongside merchant onboarding, corporate banking and fulfilment planning. We help review these requirements together. The right licence does not automatically remove product, customs or marketplace restrictions.

Technology, creative and agency businesses

Software firms, digital agencies, media-service companies and other qualifying businesses can examine Meydan’s activity groups and visa arrangements. The best combination depends on the specific services, team size and intended clients.

International founders and multi-shareholder companies

Non-resident founders and foreign businesses may evaluate Meydan for a Dubai corporate presence. Document checks, ownership, visa plans and bank onboarding should be planned separately. A corporate-shareholder or multi-owner application may have different requirements from a one-owner Fawri application.

Meydan Regular Licence vs Fawri Licence

Meydan’s own website distinguishes its standard Regular licence from the faster Fawri option. These are not interchangeable products.

Standard route
2,500+business activities, up to three activity groups

Regular business licence

The Regular route is positioned for founders who need a more flexible shareholding structure or business activity choice. Meydan’s published cost calculator lists access to more than 2,500 business activities, with up to three activity groups included under the standard pricing structure, subject to the current package terms. The authority describes typical licence processing in a matter of business days once the application and compliance requirements are satisfied.

Fast-track route
60 minpotential licence issuance after successful validation

Fawri instant licence

The Fawri product is a fast-track option the authority advertises for eligible applicants, potentially with licence issuance within 60 minutes after successful validation. Meydan’s published initial-licensing terms restrict Fawri formation to a single individual shareholder, who must also be the manager, director and UBO at formation. Branches are not eligible for Fawri, and selected nationalities and activities may be excluded. An eligible Fawri licence does not mean that a visa, corporate bank account or every external permit is approved in the same timeframe.

Which option does Skyway recommend?

We assess your need for additional shareholders, future restructuring, activity groups and any corporate ownership before suggesting Regular or Fawri. A founder who anticipates partners or regulated operations may be better served by a different setup route rather than paying for speed alone.

Meydan Free Zone Licence Activities

Meydan’s approved activity catalogue spans many commercial and professional categories. Skyway helps identify the actual activity codes that fit the business, rather than relying on broad labels such as ‘consulting’ or ‘general trading’ without checking their scope.

Where the intended activity calls for a specialised regulatory licence, warehouse, showroom, manufacturing facility or physical customer-facing operation, we assess whether Meydan is the most appropriate free-zone option before filing.

Typical applicant categories

A proposed package can sometimes combine multiple activity groups, subject to the authority’s current conditions and any external approvals.

Meydan Company Structure and Ownership

Individual shareholdersCorporate shareholders
Eligible limited-liability free zone structure

A Meydan company may be established under an eligible limited-liability free zone structure with individual or corporate shareholders, subject to the authority’s rules. Standard applications and branches should be reviewed against the relevant current documentation, whereas the Fawri initial-licensing terms specifically exclude branches and require one natural-person owner.

Business groups and existing foreign companies

For business groups and existing foreign companies, additional documents can include:

  • Parent company’s certificate of incorporation
  • Constitutional documents
  • Incumbency evidence
  • Board resolution authorising the Dubai setup

Skyway helps you assemble the relevant documents and identify any attestations or certifications required.

Meydan Free Zone’s official 2026 information advertises a Regular licence starting at AED 12,500 and a Fawri fast-track licence at AED 15,000, with package conditions and availability that can change. Meydan’s cost calculator also allows applicants to model business activities, licence term, shareholders, visa allocations and optional services.

Skyway will help define which costs are included in the authority’s current offer, which are optional and which depend on your unique requirements. Published authority prices are indicative, not a promise that all applicants qualify or that Skyway charges the same amount.

An accurate estimate should separate the components rather than treating the headline trade-licence charge as an all-inclusive operating cost:

  • 02Additional activities or shareholders beyond included allowances
  • 03Visa allocation and investor, employee or dependent visa processing

Documents Required for Meydan Free Zone Registration

Individual applicants

Most individual applicants should expect to provide a passport copy, contact details, proposed trade names, intended activities and information about the shareholder, director and manager. UAE residents may need Emirates ID and current visa details; non-residents may be asked for additional background information under KYC review.

Company shareholders

If a company will own shares, the parent entity’s incorporation certificate, memorandum or articles, board resolution, authorised signatory identification and ownership documents may be needed. The specific list varies by nationality, ownership chain, regulated activity and authority requirements. Skyway helps confirm the checklist before submission so that avoidable missing documents do not hold up the application.

Dubai Residency Visas and Workspace Planning

Visas

Visa entitlement and visa processing are separate decisions from licence issuance. Meydan’s offering can include visa allocations depending on the chosen package, with individual processing charges and immigration checks applying. We help estimate the required investor and employee visas before selecting the licence configuration so that the structure can support your hiring plan.

Workspace

For office needs, Meydan promotes workspace and flexi-desk options within its setup model. We help distinguish an included workspace arrangement from a business that requires a specific physical office, store, warehouse or regulated facility. Additional premises or other jurisdiction choices may be needed depending on actual operations.

Corporate Bank Account Setup Assistance

A Meydan licence can support a corporate banking application, but banks make independent KYC, AML and risk decisions.

Skyway helps assemble a consistent business profile and document pack, identify relevant banking routes and follow up on the application process. We do not guarantee a specific bank’s acceptance, approval timeline or access to every banking product.

Can a Meydan Free Zone Company Trade on Dubai Mainland?

A Dubai free zone company does not automatically have unrestricted permission to operate from or conduct all regulated activities on the Dubai mainland. The appropriate route depends on the activity, the way the company serves customers, and any current DET or other authority permissions, licences or operating permits. We review the proposed sales and operating model before suggesting a cross-jurisdiction solution.

If your business requires a public-facing shop, certain local on-site activities, specific government contracts or larger operational premises, a Dubai mainland company or different free zone may be more appropriate. Skyway can compare those options within a single setup consultation.

Corporate Tax, VAT and Post-Setup Compliance

0%Available on Qualifying Income only, to a Qualifying Free Zone Person
AED 375,000Standard mandatory VAT registration threshold
AED 187,500Voluntary VAT registration may be available

Corporate Tax

Registering in a UAE free zone does not automatically exempt a company from Corporate Tax. The 0% regime is available on Qualifying Income only to a Free Zone Person that satisfies the relevant Qualifying Free Zone Person conditions. Other taxable income and obligations are assessed under the applicable law, including registration, filing, adequate substance and record-keeping requirements.

VAT

For VAT, the standard mandatory registration threshold for a UAE-resident business is AED 375,000 in qualifying taxable supplies and imports, under the prescribed measurement rules. Voluntary registration may be available at AED 187,500. Skyway supports eligibility assessment, registrations, bookkeeping and tax planning appropriate to the business rather than treating a free-zone licence as a substitute for tax compliance.

Frequently Asked Questions About Meydan Free Zone Company Formation

How much does it cost to set up a company in Meydan Free Zone?

Meydan’s official 2026 materials list a Regular licence from AED 12,500 and the Fawri option at AED 15,000. Additional visas, activities, shareholders, services or document requirements can change the total. Request a current itemised quote.

Can I get a Meydan business licence in 60 minutes?

Meydan advertises a Fawri licence route with a 60-minute processing target for eligible initial applications, subject to compliance approval. It is not available to all shareholders, activities or branches, and the timeline does not include visa or bank approval.

What is the difference between Meydan Regular and Fawri licences?

Regular is the more flexible standard route for eligible shareholder structures and business activities; Fawri is a restricted initial fast-track product for one eligible individual owner who also acts as manager, director and UBO. Skyway can assess which option fits your plan.

Can a foreigner own 100% of a Meydan Free Zone company?

The free-zone framework supports full foreign ownership for eligible businesses, subject to the authority’s ownership and compliance requirements. Specific business activities can still need separate approvals.

Can I register a Meydan Free Zone company remotely?

Meydan promotes digital-first formation. Some applicants can complete much of the process online; identity verification, compliance, visas and particular approvals may still create further steps.

Can I include more than one business activity?

The official Regular product supports multiple activity groups under its published package rules, with additional charges or restrictions for some activities. Skyway helps confirm that each planned activity is properly covered.

Is a Dubai residence visa included with every Meydan licence?

No. Visa allocation and actual visa processing can involve separate selection and fees. Verify the package and applicant eligibility before assuming the headline licence price includes residency.

Can I open a corporate bank account after Meydan company formation?

A Meydan company can apply for a business account, subject to the chosen bank’s independent KYC and eligibility process. Skyway can help prepare the supporting business and ownership documentation.

Can I trade freely anywhere in the UAE with a Meydan licence?

Not automatically. Your authorised activities and applicable mainland, customs and sector rules still matter. Skyway assesses any additional licence or permit route needed for the intended operations.

Does Meydan Free Zone guarantee 0% Corporate Tax?

No. The 0% rate is conditional and applies only to qualifying income of an eligible Qualifying Free Zone Person. Corporate Tax and VAT compliance should be reviewed for each company.

Can an existing foreign company own a Meydan entity?

Corporate shareholding may be possible through the suitable standard application route and supporting corporate documents. The one-individual-shareholder Fawri initial-licensing terms do not cover corporate-shareholder formation.
